Motherhood is a Career

I have been asked on many occasions this question "Are you working?" At the beginning, I always replied "No, I am not, I am a full time mother".
But now, I would answer "Yes, I am because I am a full time mother". You see, the difference of two replies, both are true, speaks the different mentality a mother has for herself. Are you proud of being a Full time mother?
Many of these women, they leave their promising career for the love of their own children. It is mother's nature calling brings back these mothers. They perform their duties with devotion and sacrificial love, they take charge of almost all aspects of their children's life, they nurture the children and beautify the homes, let husbands free from worries at home ... yet, Full time mothers are not valued from social point of view. For the states, they are not gainfully employed, for the society, they are housewives, the very name of housewives have low class delineation, even for many of full time mothers, they are wondering whether they have any of "market value" after stopping working for couple of years. Shall we think so?
Let me suggest that Motherhood is a rightful Career for a mother. In fact, ALL woman will benefit from her motherhood experience if she puts heart into it. Think about this, what qualification a company looks for its employee? The attitude , the personality and the skill. The most desirable quality includes : responsible, self-motivate and loyal.
Full time motherhood will teach ALL these important lessons to build up a mother's personality and shape up her character. There are some valuable experience Motherhood will teach you:

  1. The sacrificial love and devotion, you will have to put others' needs before yours. You will learn to give and take
  2. The ability of multi-tasking, your daily training
  3. The skills of arbitrating and PR. This will especially useful, as you will find many adults in work place are just behaviour like children
  4. The coaching skills. Teaching your own children will enable you to develop the useful coaching skill, you will be sensitive to different learning styles and learning processes.
  5. The positive thinking. Motherhood will teach you to "see a world from a grain of sand and eternity a flower". You won't be dread by endless daily routines and chores, because, if you are conscious enough, you will learn to be thankful for all things.

Yes, you can use motherhood as training ground to advance your personal and professional life. Be confident, be self-motivated and be responsible of all things you have to do.
The latest technology and knowledge can be enquired by earnest studies and continuous learning, if you are motivated, these shall be of little concerns. I have learnt do some news things to be a mother, including baking a bread, making yogurt, assembling simple furniture from IKEA, I am confident I can Learn All Things if I want. Different from when I was in school, where learning happened passively, now if I want to learn something, the desire of learning enables me to be the best learner I ever can be, like sponge for water, I absorb new knowledge. The most important the motherhood also will teach you the skill of learning, with some help from training agency if necessary, you should be able to update your knowledge base.

In summery, let me appeal to all mothers to regards "Motherhood as a career". If so do the States and its society, there will be a new hope for many first world countries who face declining birth rate and ageing population.
